Are We There Yet?

Are We There Yet?

The alure of a bright shimmering city evokes the ideas of convenience, and material desire, the closer we get to it the more we are blinded by the lights. Yet, the city is dystopia - It ponders the question: In our rush to reach the next destination, have we already arrived at the world we feared?

This piece is by far the longest and most detailed painting I have done using only lines of binary code, spanning over 6 weeks, it became something of an obsession itself. It has recently been used on an indie musician’s first CD release due to its powerful imagery and underlying hidden warning.

The whole of this piece was drawn with the following binary code:
01010011 01101100 01100001 01110110 01100101 01110011 00100000 01110100 01101111 00100000 01100011 01101111 01101110 01110011 01110101 01101101 01100101 01110010 01101001 01110011 01101101

Which translates to:
Slaves to consumerism
