100 years on from the first recorded use of planned obsolescence - This piece explores the destruction caused by consumerism and planned obsolescence as one of many contributors to climate change. It is part of a duo with Melting Piece 1.0 Beta which is a nod to one of the origins of planned obsolescence.
The black background is entirely created by money symbols - And just like the mining and scraping away of the resources it reveals the financial gain below! We can especially see this detail in the bottom and top edges.
